Ink & Spindle is looking for a dynamic new person to join our team!
This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of the Ink & Spindle family, due to our current Print & Studio Manager (Sora) heading off on some exciting overseas adventures.
The Ink & Spindle studio is a warm, friendly and vibrant space within the Abbotsford Convent creative precinct. We are a small team of down-to-earth women with a genuine passion for creating beautiful, sustainable textiles & furnishings.
Our ideal candidate is someone with prior screenprinting experience who is able to keep up with the physical demands of a full production schedule. A positive energy and attitude is a MUST. A love of print is important because you’ll be doing a LOT of it. Being quick on your feet and having the ability to juggle a wide range of tasks is essential because no two days in the studio are the same. Excellent communication skills are also important – our ideal applicant knows how to speak up, ask questions and communicate honestly. We’d love a team member who can also show initiative and help improve our processes.
Although this role is not a creative one, we pride ourselves on supporting and nurturing whatever creative side hustle you’ve got going on, including personal use of the studio.
Anywhere from 2-4 days per week
Flexible. Ideally some Training & Induction to commence in October 2023.
– Screen printing of textile meterage alongside other staff members
– Pre-print setup and ink mixing
– Helping manage and work to our production schedule
– General studio upkeep and maintenance
– Other tasks as required eg cutting fabric for orders, printing swatches, packaging & dispatch
